Lucky Brand is a clothing company based in California. The brand is specialized in vintage-inspired denim apparel and offers every possible design of jeans for women and men along with a kids line, a selection of accessories, shoes and a collection of home products. Lucky Brand is aimed at a clientele that's creative with a fun rebellious spirit and it pays much attention to details. Every pair of jeans is stitched the phrase "Lucky You" on the fly and the buttons are decorated with a four-leaf clover. Lucky Brand owns 150 stores mainly located in the US but also in Canada, Puerto Rico and Europe. In Australia and in the United Arab Emirates, Lucky Brand is distributed in David Jones department stores.
Gene Montesano and friend Barry Perlman were respectively 21 and 17 when they first started selling jeans in a small store they named Four Way Street in Florida. At the time (the 1970s), they would go to the local Landromat and use coins and bleach to wash their jeans and give them a unique touch. In 1978, Montesano moved to Los Angeles and co-created fashion label Bongo. Montesano and Perlman eventually reunited in 1990 and founded Lucky Brand Jeans in Vernon, California. In 2006, following the introduction of its kids line the previous year, the company launched the Lucky Brand Foundation, dedicated to raising funds for diverse children's charities.
